FOUR (4) MORE SHORT(ER) CRANKS

The last 4 clients that came in needed shorter cranks. Installed #4 last night. Three purchased Cobb cranks (145mm, 145mm, 150mm) and one purchased Shimano R7000 in 160mm. They ALL report knee pain gone and “CYCLING HAS NEVER BEEN THIS EASY!”
This fit bike is for #5. Client got fit by a local pro-fitter that has recently jumped onto the short crank band wagon. Problem is that he fits with just the clients bike in an old trainer and just guesses at what the shorter crank lengths should be. This client paid premium money for a bike fit that didn’t work. Knee pain continues PLUS he is out the money for a new shorter crank that is the wrong size.
Here is our ‘rig’ for setting up the client. His bike is a 2018 Specialized Tarmac Pro in 56cm. To ensure the correct crank length, this fit bike has been setup (see attached paper to the frame) with his bikes exact head tube angle, head tube length, seat tube angle, seat tube length, effective top tube length, stem angle, stem length, seat post length, all verified with exact frame stack & reach. These Vari-Cranks can be adjusted from 140mm-170mm, and, if needed, I have a second set that goes from 155mm-185mm in 2.5mm adjustments.
The other fitter recommended 170mm, this fitting proved the client needed 160mm.
