NEWLY revamped course, lots of new material organized and taught in modules. After completing this course, you will have equivalent knowledge of an INTERMEDIATE-LEVEL bike fitter. Our fully accredited, three-day bike fit class & hands-on course that is designed for PTs to LBS mechanics. We cover it all.
We approach bike fitting from a biomechanics perspective. Rick, our master fitter, has an extensive engineering and project management background and is certified by the International Bike Fitting Institute (IBFI) as a level 4 fitter. Rick has thousands of successful bike fits under his belt and specializes in knee-pain-mitigation. Rick enjoys teaching his bike fitting classes since there is always an opportunity to learn something new and to help out the students that attend.
Rick is also a certified USA Cycling coach with Hunter Allen’s Peaks Coaching Group and has certifications in power-based training, LEOMO real-time motion analysis, is a USAC Certified Skills Instructor teaching the Beginner Racer Program (BRP). Rick's bike fitting beliefs are to (a) place the body into its natural 'relaxed' state on the bicycle where the cyclist has the most stability and thereby the strongest, and (b) determine correct crank arm length to mitigate knee/hip damage & pain.
As well as being an elite female athlete and cyclist, Amy, our senior bike fitter has an undergraduate degree in kinesiology & biomechanics from San Diego State University and is a specialist in physiology and anatomy. More importantly, she is a licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT - University California San Francisco UCSF) and holds a certificate as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and currently working on becoming a board-certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS). Amy currently works as a PT at Red Bull sports.
BOTTOM LINE - Unlike other bike fitting courses which only teach "HOW TO RUN THE MACHINE," we teach the basics, the How's and the How-To's and the Why's.
When you have completed the course, you will know what to change, why change it and what a change to the bike will cause.
If you want to then automate, you will actually know what the machines recommendations will do and/or if your client can actually absorb this change.
In order to provide the best in bike fitting courseware and application, we continually research the latest in industry standards, processes and procedures determined by physical therapists, physiologists, biomechanics and kinesiologists.
Knowing how the body moves and how it is supposed to move sets us apart from other bike fitters and other educational instruction. We leverage this understanding to tailor the bike fit to you, the individual – no two bike fits are the same since no two bodies are the same.
Our curriculum is constantly updated and always contains the latest processes based on the latest scientific research and input from the fields leading experts. Topics covered include,
DAY 1:
DAY 2:
DAY 3:
Once you register. we will email you 'Day 0' coursework in PDF format. This will take several hours to go through and will discuss what is needed for class as well as what is needed for you to start your own bike fitting business.
We were in search of a more formal bike fitting service to our shop. After researching several bike fitting programs, we decided to sign up with Bike Fitness Coaching. World of Bikes sent two members to Rick’s three-day, certification course.
This intensive course was extremely beneficial to World of Bikes. It allowed us to refine our bike fit skills and utilize our new found knowledge to help our clients. I can't speak highly enough about Rick’s experience and professionalism. The balance of physiology and the mechanics of bike fitting were relatable to the different professional backgrounds of the students. He managed to condense this complex course material into a format that was interactive and engaging.
I feel confident in recommending Rick’s courses to anyone interested in pursuing a greater depth of understanding of the dynamics of bike fitting.

Rick's course was very informative. I wasn't sure how a virtual bike fit course was going to work but I walked away at the end of the weekend feeling confident on how to fit someone to a bike. Rick's course was really great and I would recommend it to anyone.
